Figure 3.104. Removing the fuel rail: 1 – fuel supply line nipple; 2 – injector connectors; 3-pin knock sensor connector; 4 – ramp mounting bolts

When working, refer to Figure 3.104.

Removal

  • relieve fuel pressure in the system;
  • disconnect the negative battery cable;
  • remove the ramp protective cover;

Information is located on the website: www.Renaultbook.ru

Caution! When removing the injectors or the fuel rail, be careful, as there is fuel in the rail and the fitting. Take measures to protect the generator from fuel ingress.

  • disconnect the fuel lines from the ramp;
  • disconnect the injector connectors;
  • disconnect the knock sensor connector;
  • unscrew the ramp mounting bolts and remove it with the injectors from the intake manifold;
  • remember the installation of the injectors, loosen the fasteners and remove the injectors from the ramp.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, while be sure to replace the sealing rings and injector holders. To facilitate installation, lubricate the sealing rings with engine oil.

Checking the fuel pump supply

Work order:
  • relieve fuel pressure in the system;
  • lift the back seat;
  • remove the metal cover on the rear floor to gain access to the fuel pump cover (see Figure 3.98);
  • install the fuel pump relay in place;
  • disconnect the green quick-release fitting from the fuel pump cover and connect the pump to a 2-liter measuring cup using a suitable hose;
  • turn on the fuel pump using a diagnostic tool or by installing a jumper in the fuel pump relay between contact 1 and the "+" of the power supply circuit;
  • measure the pump flow, which should be 60–80 l/h.

After taking measurements, reinstall the removed elements.

Checking the fuel supply pressure

Work order:
  • remove the protective cover of the fuel distribution rail;
  • relieve fuel pressure in the system;

Figure 3.105. Measuring fuel supply pressure: 1 – fuel supply line; 2 – control pressure gauge

Figure 3.105. Measuring fuel supply pressure: 1 – fuel supply line; 2 – control pressure gauge

  • disconnect the fuel supply line (Figure 3.105) and connect the tee (Mot. 1311–08) with a control pressure gauge;

Caution! When disconnecting the fuel supply line from the ramp, be careful, as there is fuel in the ramp and the fitting. Take measures to protect the generator.

  • start the engine to operate the fuel pump;
  • check the pressure using the pressure gauge, which should be constant and amount to (3.5±0.06) bar.

Note: It may take several seconds for the required pressure to build up in the fuel rail.
