Figure 3.104. Removing the fuel rail: 1 - fitting of the fuel supply pipeline; 2 - contact connectors for injectors; 3 – a contact socket of the gauge of a detonation; 4 – ramp fastening bolts
Refer to Figure 3.104 for operation.
Removing
- relieve fuel pressure in the system;
- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- remove the protective casing of the ramp;
Attention! When removing the injectors or the fuel rail, be careful as there is fuel in the rail and nipple. Take measures to protect the generator from fuel ingress.
- disconnect the fuel lines from the rail;
- disconnect the injector connectors;
- disconnect the knock sensor connector;
- unscrew the rail mounting bolts and remove it with injectors from the intake manifold;
- remember the installation of the nozzles, loosen the fasteners and remove the nozzles from the ramp.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, while be sure to replace the o-rings and nozzle holders. To facilitate installation, lubricate the O-rings with engine oil.
Checking the supply of the fuel pump
Operating procedure:
- relieve fuel pressure in the system;
- raise the back seat;
- remove the metal hatch cover in the rear floor to gain access to the fuel pump cover (see Figure 3.98);
- reinstall the fuel pump relay;
- disconnect the green quick-release fitting from the fuel pump cover and connect the pump with a beaker with a capacity of 2 liters using a suitable hose;
- turn on the fuel pump using a scan tool or by installing a jumper wire in the fuel pump relay between pin 1 and «+» power circuits;
- measure the flow of the pump, which should be 60-80 l / h.
After measuring, reinstall the removed elements.
Fuel pressure test
Operating procedure:
- remove the protective casing of the fuel distribution rail;
- relieve fuel pressure in the system;
Figure 3.105. Fuel pressure gauge: 1 - fuel supply pipeline; 2 - control pressure gauge
- disconnect the fuel supply line (Figure 3.105) and connect the tee (Mot. 1311–08) with control pressure gauge;
Attention! When disconnecting the fuel supply line from the rail, be careful, as there is fuel in the rail and fitting. Take measures to protect the generator.
- start the engine to activate the fuel pump;
- check the pressure on the pressure gauge, which should be constant and equal to (3,5±0,06) bar.
Note. It may take a few seconds for the correct pressure to be reached in the fuel rail.
