Removal procedure:
  • set the parking brake;
  • raise the front of the vehicle, place safety supports under the body and remove the corresponding wheel;
  • unscrew the hub mounting nut (see subsection "Front wheel drive");
  • remove the two bolts securing the brake caliper to the steering knuckle and hang the caliper on a wire hook away from the work area, without pulling on the brake hose;
  • remove the ABS sensor (if installed) and tie it away from the work area;
  • unscrew the nut securing the steering tip joint to the steering knuckle and use a puller to press the joint pin out of the steering knuckle;
  • unscrew the nut and remove the bolt of the clamp securing the lower arm to the steering knuckle. Using a suitable lever, remove the ball joint from the steering arm housing, being careful not to damage the CV joint boot and the plastic protective joint gasket;
  • unscrew the two nuts securing the lower part of the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle and remove the bolts;
  • using a drift, disconnect the outer joint of the drive shaft from the hub and remove the steering knuckle.

The installation is carried out as follows:
  • clean the splined surfaces of the hub and drive shaft;
  • if using a Nyloc type hub nut, apply a special anaerobic sealant to the drive shaft splines;
  • insert the drive shaft splines into the hub until they stop;
  • align the holes in the steering knuckle and the bottom of the shock absorber strut, insert the bolts into them and secure them with nuts, installing the nuts at the rear along the direction of the vehicle;
  • install the new hub nut without tightening it completely;
  • insert the lower arm ball joint pin into the steering knuckle, making sure that the protective plastic gasket is in place, install the clamp connection bolt and tighten its nut;
  • install the steering knuckle pin into the hole in the steering knuckle and tighten the new nut;
  • perform the remaining operations in the reverse order of removal;
  • make sure the wheel rotates freely;
  • check and adjust the front wheel alignment angles if necessary.
