- set the parking brake;
- raise the front of the vehicle, place safety supports under the body and remove the corresponding wheel;
- unscrew the two nuts securing the lower part of the strut to the steering knuckle. Remove the bolts and support the knuckle from below with a suitable support;
- disconnect the brake hose and ABS sensor mount from the rack (if installed);

- in the engine compartment, unscrew the nut of the upper strut mount, holding the shock absorber rod from turning with a hex key (Fig. 5.3);
- move the lower part of the strut away from the steering knuckle and carefully remove the strut from under the wing without damaging the outer CV joint boot.
The shock absorber strut is installed in the reverse order of removal, and the following must be done:

- place the nuts securing the bolts of the lower part of the strut to the steering knuckle at the rear of the vehicle in the direction of travel;
- tighten the fasteners to the specified torque.
