Pic. 2.276. Coil and spark plug
Ignition coils (four, according to the number of cylinders) mounted directly on the spark plugs with a bolt on the cylinder head cover (pic. 2.276).
The injection ECU supplies power to the ignition coils in pairs:
- through contact C M4 for ignition coils of cylinders 1 and 4;
- via terminal C M3 for the ignition coils of cylinders 2 and 3.
Removing
Remove the engine top covers.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Pic. 2.277. Disconnecting the wire blocks from the ignition coils: 1 - pads of wires; 2 - coil mounting bolts
Disconnect the wire blocks from the ignition coils and unscrew the bolts of their fastening (pic. 2.277).
Attention! Damaged connector sockets must be replaced.
Installation
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Apply GRAISSE FLUOREE to all four ignition coils (diameter 2 mm) along the inner circumference of the high voltage wire cap.
Replace if necessary sealing rings of coils of ignition.
Torque tighten:
- ignition coil screws (15 Nm);
- battery cover bolts (4 Nm).
