Removal



To remove the starter, you need to remove the engine.

Remove the catalytic converter.

Loosen the heat shield mounting bolts and remove it.

Remove the lower catalytic converter brace (fig. 2.273).

Disconnect the starter power wires.

Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the starter (fig. 2.274).

Installation

Check for the presence of the mounting sleeve (fig. 2.275).

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten to the specified torque:
  • starter mounting bolts (38 Nm);
  • nut for fastening the lower brace of the catalytic converter (21 Nm);
  • heat shield mounting bolts (8.5 Nm).

Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
