Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Remove the top engine covers.
Remove the engine intake muffler mounting bolt and the air filter outlet duct (k4M engine).
Disconnect:
- wiring harness from the oil level sensor;
- starter wiring harnesses.

Loosen the starter mounting bolts and remove the starter (fig. 2.271).
Installation

Check for the presence of the mounting sleeve (fig. 2.272).
The installation of the remaining components is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
Tighten to the specified torque:
- starter mounting bolts (38 Nm);
- battery cover mounting bolts (4 Nm).
