Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Remove:
- engine Top Covers;
- right front wheel;
- right front mudguard.

Remove the subframe side reinforcements (fig. 2.263).
Remove the bumper.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the fog lights (if they are installed).
Disconnect the headlight washer fluid supply pipes (if it is installed) from the windshield washer reservoir.
Disconnect the tubes from the windshield washer reservoir.

Loosen the generator mounting bolts and remove the generator using a screwdriver (fig. 2.264).
Caution: Do not apply pressure to the air conditioning hose as this may cause refrigerant to leak.
Note: To facilitate removal of the generator, move the radiator assembly with the condenser forward slightly (take precautions to avoid damaging the condenser pipes).
Installation

Insert the bushings using pliers or a vice to facilitate installation (fig. 2.265).
Attention! Be sure to replace the alternator belt together with the tension and idler rollers.
Install the generator.
Tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque (25 Nm).
Replace the accessory drive belt.
The installation of the remaining equipment is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
