Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Remove:
- upper engine covers;
- right front wheel;
- right front fender.

Remove the side reinforcements of the subframe (pic. 2.263).
Remove the bumper.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the fog lights (if they are installed).
Disconnect the fluid supply pipes to the headlight washer (if it is installed) from the washer reservoir.
Disconnect the tubes from the windshield washer reservoir.

Remove the alternator mounting bolts and remove the alternator with a screwdriver (pic. 2.264).
Attention! Do not press on the air conditioning hose, as this may cause refrigerant to leak.
Note. To facilitate the removal of the generator, move the radiator assembly with the condenser forward a little (take precautions not to damage the condenser piping).
Installation

Insert bushings with pliers or a vise to facilitate installation (pic. 2.265).
Attention! Be sure to replace the alternator belt together with the tension and bypass rollers.
Install the generator.
Torque tighten (25 Nm) mounting bolts.
Replace the accessory drive belt.
The rest of the equipment is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Attach the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
