Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Remove the engine oil pan guard.
Remove the downstream oxygen sensor.
Cut the exhaust pipe.

Loosen the exhaust pipe flange mounting nuts and remove the catalytic converter (fig. 2.291).
Installation
Install the downstream oxygen sensor.
Warning! Do not use a used coupling.
Attention! When assembled, the bolt and nut of the coupling must not come into contact with the bottom of the body.
Attention! A damaged heat shield must be replaced.
Tighten the oxygen sensor to the specified torque (45 N·m) using the tool (Mot. 1495-01).
If necessary, tighten the exhaust manifold flange mounting studs to the specified torque (7 Nm).
Install the catalytic converter and coupling.
The installation of the remaining equipment is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Caution: Be sure to replace the exhaust manifold flange gasket and any disconnected plastic air intake ducts.
Tighten the exhaust manifold flange mounting nuts to the specified torque (21 Nm).
Tighten the coupling, relieving the exhaust pipe to align it.
Connect the oxygen sensor.
Make sure all exhaust system heat shields are present and securely fastened.

Install the engine oil pan guard.
Make sure the exhaust pipe does not come into contact with the underbody.
Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
