Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Remove the air filter housing (K4J).
Remove intake manifold (K4M).

Disconnect the wiring harness from the downstream oxygen sensor (pic. 2.253).

Unscrew the nuts securing the exhaust pipe flange and remove the exhaust manifold strut (pic. 2.254).
Note. Mark with a marker the position of the exhaust pipe suspension brackets on the body.

Remove the bolt securing the exhaust pipe suspension bracket to the body (pic. 2.255).

Turn away a bolt of fastening of an arm of a pillow of a suspension bracket of the main muffler to a body (pic. 2.256).
Move the exhaust pipe back.
Remove the oxygen sensor using the tool (Mot. 1495-01).

Remove the upper exhaust manifold heat shield (pic. 2.257).

Unscrew the nine nuts of the mounting studs and remove the exhaust manifold (pic. 2.258).

Remove the bottom heat shield (pic. 2.259).
Installation
Must be replaced:
- manifold gaskets;
- exhaust pipe flange gaskets;
- exhaust manifold nuts.
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.

Tighten in the order shown in figure 2.260 the required moment (23±3 Nm) exhaust manifold nuts.
Tighten:
- heat shield bolt (10 Nm);
- oxygen sensors (45 Nm);
- bolts of fastening of brackets of pillows of a suspension bracket of the final pipeline to a body (21 Nm);
- exhaust manifold bolt (8 Nm);
- exhaust pipe flange nuts (20 Nm).
Attach the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
