Removal and installation of the exhaust manifold (F4P and K4M engines) (Renault Laguna 2)

Removal

Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Disconnect the battery.



Remove the air filter housing.

Disconnect the wiring connector and remove oxygen sensor 1 using tool Mot. 1495.

Remove the upper exhaust manifold heat shield.

Remove the brace A between the exhaust manifold and the gearbox housing.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe.

Remove the catalytic converter.

Place a shim on the subframe to support the exhaust downpipe and prevent damage to the hose. If this happens, the catalytic converter must be replaced.

Remove the exhaust manifold mounting stud nuts.

Release the manifold by turning it approximately 45°, then pull it out to the right side.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Observe the order and tightening torque of the manifold mounting stud nuts.

Replace the manifold gaskets and three-point flange nuts, as well as the manifold mounting stud nuts. Remove the lower heat shield.
