Removal and installation the front exhaust manifold (LX7 engines) (Renault Laguna 2)

Removal

Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Disconnect the battery.

Remove:

• fairing under the engine;
• top engine cover.

Disconnect the connectors 1 of the oxygen sensors.

Remove:

• heat shield 2 collectors;
• nuts 3 studs fastening the flange on the exhaust manifold.

Loosen the four catalytic converter and pre-catalytic converter flange stud nuts as much as possible by inserting a tool through the subframe using several extensions.



Remove the pre-catalytic converter brace mounting bolt.



Move the pre-catalytic converter aside to gain access to the exhaust manifold.



Remove:

• lower exhaust manifold heat shield 4;
• starter heat shield 5;
• exhaust manifold.

Installation

Replace the gaskets with new ones.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, observing the torques and tightening order of the manifold mounting stud nuts.
