Start off in first gear. Then, as the car accelerates and reaches the appropriate speeds, successively engage second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth (if available) transmissions.
To engage reverse gear, move the lever to neutral and then to the reverse gear position.

Correct driving techniques
Do not drive downhill in neutral gear: it is very dangerous. Always keep the gear engaged.

Avoid driving in a manner that requires sudden braking. This will cause the brakes to overheat and reduce their efficiency. On long descents, engine braking should be used to prevent the brakes from overheating (downshift).
When shifting into a lower gear, apply the brakes slightly to prevent the engine from revving too high, which could damage the engine.
In strong crosswinds, reduce your vehicle speed to improve handling.
Before engaging reverse gear, make sure the vehicle is completely stopped. Otherwise, you may damage the gearbox. To move the lever to the position corresponding to engaging reverse gear, first depress the clutch pedal, move the lever to the neutral position, wait 3 seconds, and then move the lever to the reverse position.
Be especially careful when driving on slippery roads. Drive carefully when braking, accelerating and changing gears. On slippery roads, sudden changes in speed can cause the wheels to lose traction and control of the car.
