Engine Shutdown Conditions
When the engine stops:
- on vehicles with automatic transmission, the gear selector is in position N or P;
- press button 3.
When the engine is stopped, additional equipment (car radio, air conditioner, etc.) continues to work.
When the driver's door is opened, the additional equipment is switched off.
Renault Remote Control Card
When the card is in reader 2, pressing the engine start/stop button ("start/ stop") stops the engine.
If there is no card in the reader, after the first press the message "Confirm engine stop" will appear on the instrument panel.
To confirm engine stop, press button 3 two more times.
Renault card with "hands-free" function
When the card is in the car, pressing the engine start/stop button 3 ("start/stop"), stops the engine.
If there is no map in the area, after the first press the message "Confirm engine stop" will appear on the instrument panel.
To confirm engine stop, press button 3 two more times.
Attention! When leaving the car, do not leave the Renault card in it, especially if there is a child in the car (or an animal). A child may accidentally start an engine or turn on electrical equipment (for example, window lifts), which is associated with the risk of pinching of body parts (neck, arms, fingers, etc.).
There is a risk of serious injury.
Never turn off the ignition until the car has come to a complete stop, since when the engine is not running, the brake booster, power steering, etc., as well as passive safety devices: airbags and seat belt pretensioners, stop working.
Operating conditions of the vehicle
Driving a car under the following conditions is described:
- prolonged driving with the low fuel warning light on;
- use of leaded gasoline;
- use of engine oil additives or fuel grades not approved by Renault;
- a malfunction of the ignition system or complete depletion of fuel, or disconnection of the spark plug, resulting in misfires and jerking while driving.
The loss of power is accompanied by excessive heating of the catalytic converter, which can lead to its destruction or cause serious damage to the vehicle due to overheating.
If you detect any of the above faults, immediately contact a Renault service station to carry out the necessary repairs.
Such situations can be avoided if you regularly carry out maintenance of your car at a Renault service station in accordance with the recommendations given in the service book.
Difficulty starting the engine
To avoid damaging the catalytic converter, do not attempt to start the engine (starter, pushing or towing the vehicle), until you determine and correct the cause of the problem.
If the cause of the malfunction is not determined, stop trying to start the engine and contact a Renault service station.
