Attention! When leaving the car, do not leave the Renault card in it, especially if there is a child left in the car (or animal). The child may accidentally start the engine or turn on electrical equipment (e.g. windows), which is associated with the risk of pinching of body parts (neck, hands, fingers, etc.).
There is a risk of serious injury when doing so.
In no case do not turn off the ignition until the car is completely stopped, since when the engine is not running, the vacuum brake booster, power steering, etc., as well as passive safety devices: airbags and seat belt pretensioners stop working.
Vehicle operating conditions
Driving is described under the following conditions:
- continuous movement with the control lamp of the emergency fuel remaining in the tank on;
- use of leaded gasoline;
- use of engine oil additives or fuels not approved by Renault;
- malfunction of the ignition system or complete exhaustion of fuel, or disconnection of the spark plug, expressed in misfires and jerks when driving.
Power reduction is accompanied by excessive heating of the catalytic converter, which can lead to destruction of the catalytic converter or serious damage to the vehicle caused by overheating.
If you find the above malfunctions, immediately contact a Renault service station to carry out the necessary repairs.
Such situations can be avoided if the car is regularly maintained at a Renault service station in accordance with the recommendations given in the service book.
Difficulty starting the engine
To avoid damaging the catalytic converter, do not attempt to start the engine (starter, pushing or towing a car), until the cause of the problem has been identified and corrected.
If the cause of the malfunction is not determined, stop trying to start the engine and contact a Renault service station.
