Removal and installation of the knock sensor, K7M engine



Removal the knock sensor



1. Place the vehicle on a two-stop lift.

2. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the engine protective pan.

3. Disconnect the connector (1) of the knock sensor.

3. Disconnect the connector (1) of the knock sensor.


4. Unscrew the knock sensor using a 24 mm socket for removing and installing the clutch release cylinder (Emb. 1797).

Installing a knock sensor



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note: Knock sensor tightening torque: 20 Nm.

2. Remove the fuel rail protection.



3. Disconnect the knock sensor connector (3).

4. Unscrew the knock sensor using a 24 mm socket for removing and installing the clutch release cylinder (Emb. 1797).

Installing a knock sensor



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note:
  • Knock sensor tightening torque: 20 Nm.
  • Tightening torque of the fuel rail protection mounting nuts: 21 Nm.
