On all engines of Renault Logan cars, Champion RYCLC87 or Sagem RFN58LZ spark plugs are used, the gap between the spark plug electrodes (0,95±0,05) mm.
1. Remove the tip of the high-voltage wire from the candle being replaced.
2. Blow out the spark plug wells with compressed air to prevent dirt from entering the engine cylinder when the spark plug is removed.
3. Remove spark plug...
4....and remove it from the spark plug well.
Note. Inspect the candle and evaluate its condition by appearance (see «Diagnostics of the engine condition by the appearance of spark plugs»).
5. Check the gap between the spark plug electrodes with a round feeler gauge. The gap should be (0,95±0,05) mm.
6. If the gap differs from the specified, adjust it by bending the side electrode.
Attention! Adjust the gap only by bending the side electrode. Any bending of the center electrode will break the spark plug insulator.
7. When installing spark plugs, screw them in first by hand (without collar), and then tighten with a wrench to a torque of 25–30 Nm.
8. Lubricate the high voltage wire lugs with grease before installation. Factory recommends FLUORINE GREASE (number 82 00 168 855 according to the Renault catalog), but technical vaseline can also be used.
Note. When connecting high-voltage wires, please note that the numbering of engine cylinders on Renault cars is from the flywheel side.
