General information
Vehicles are equipped with two types of devices listed below.
Cruise control allows you to maintain the speed selected by the driver. This feature can be disabled at any time by pressing the brake pedal, clutch pedal or one of the system switches.
The speed limiter allows the driver to set a speed limit. Once the vehicle has reached the set speed, depressing the accelerator pedal does not increase the speed further. The selected speed limit can be exceeded at any time by overcoming the resistance of the accelerator pedal.
These functions are controlled by the injection ECU, which communicates with the automatic transmission ECU and the instrument panel. The setpoints are realized by means of an electrically actuated throttle valve.
Note. Page flashing «AOAC» (on-board computer) or display indicates to the driver that maintaining the set speed is not possible (e.g. when driving downhill).
General information
EBUABS:
- gives a signal «vehicle speed»;
- gives a signal «brake pedal pressed».
ECU automatic transmission:
- gives a signal «included gear», after which the set value is displayed on the instrument panel (regulated or limited) speed;
- the two-color indicator lights up (when the cruise control is turned on, it lights up in green, when the speed limiter is turned on, it lights up in yellow).
Each time these functions are activated, the on-board computer display (models as standard) or widescreen display (complete models) switches to the corresponding page.
Note. There is no dedicated indicator light for the speed control/limit function.
Governing bodies
Three position switch (off, cruise control or speed limiter).
Steering wheel switches for changing the set speed, canceling a function or recalling the speed from memory.
The accelerator and brake pedal limit switches are used respectively in the injection system and for the brake light.
Clutch pedal limit switch (depending on configuration) designed specifically for the speed control function.
Notes. The car has two clutch pedal sensors (at the end of the stroke to start the engine and at the beginning of the stroke for the cruise function). The accelerator pedal must always have a safety stop at the end of the stroke.
injection computer:
- receives signals from the accelerator pedal limit switch;
- receives a signal from the brake pedal limit switch;
- receives a signal from the clutch pedal switch (depending on configuration);
- receives signals from the switch (three-position);
- receives signals from the switches on the steering wheel;
- receives signals from the ABS computer;
- receives signals from the automatic transmission computer;
- sends signals to the instrument panel;
- controls the electric throttle valve or the amount of fuel injected on vehicles with a diesel engine.
