Replacing the idle speed control valve (Renault Sandero 1)

The idle speed control (ISC) is located at the bottom of the throttle assembly. It consists of a two-pole stepper motor and a cone valve connected to it. At the signal from the ECU, the motor moves the valve, thereby changing the flow area of the air duct.

You will need a TORX T20 key.

1. Remove the air filter (see "Removal and installation the air filter").

2. Disconnect (with ignition off) the wiring harness block from the idle speed control valve.

3. Remove the two screws securing the IAC to the throttle assembly (for clarity, shown on a removed throttle assembly).

The idle speed regulator of the K4M engine is fixed to the air filter housing, but the procedure for replacing it is similar to replacing the regulator on the K7J and K7M engines.

5. ...and its sealing ring.

Helpful Hint: Replace a damaged or loosened ring with a new one.


6. Install the idle speed control valve in the reverse order of removal.
