Replacing the throttle cable


1. Disconnect the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal.

Note. The process of replacing the throttle cable is shown using the K7J and K7M engines as an example. Replacing the drive cable on the K4M engine is performed in a similar manner.


2. Remove the air filter (see "Removal and installation the air filter").

3. Disconnect the cable end from the intermediate lever.

4. Squeeze the shell tip latches and remove the tip from the hole in the bracket.

5. Using a screwdriver, remove the cable sheath stop from the engine compartment shield...

6. ...and remove the throttle cable by pulling it out into the engine compartment.

7. Install the new cable in the reverse order of removal. If necessary, adjust the throttle actuator (see "Adjusting the throttle cable tension").
