Entering the code into the electric steering column lock (Renault Laguna 2)

The electric lock is supplied without an entered code. Therefore, to allow the ignition to be turned on, when installing it in the lock, it is necessary to enter the code of the electronic engine immobilizer system.

To do this, simply insert the Renault card into the reader for a few seconds. Remove the Renault card, the engine start blocking system is activated after a few seconds. The code is entered into the electric lock, and the steering column is locked.

Attention! On cars with this electronic engine immobilizer system, the immobilizer system code is saved for the entire service life of the car. In addition, this system does not have a recovery code. In this regard, it is prohibited to conduct tests with electric locks taken from the warehouse and subject to return. The entered code cannot be deleted.

To check if the code has been entered correctly in the electric steering column lock: select "Passenger compartment switch unit", in the "Status" menu check that the line "ET 089 steering column lock was not in operation" is not confirmed.
