Peculiarities
Currently, instead of an unlock code, an after-sales code is used, which is assigned to the car at the factory for the entire Service life.
Renault cards do not contain a number.
When delivered, the vehicles do not have a code label.
If it is necessary to carry out work on this system, the after-sales code can be requested from the local service center.
When requesting an aftermarket code, it is now necessary to provide the identification and serial number of the vehicle. With their help, a service station worker can identify the car in order to report the correct code.
Spare Renault cards are delivered uncoded, without numbers and without an additional metal insert. Function accumulator «free hands» charged.
This system can have a maximum of four Renault cards. Remote control function, battery and battery (in version with function «free hands») It has nothing to do with the engine immobilizer system.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, one RENAULT card with the function «free hands». Multiple RENAULT cards with function «free hands» registration is not possible.
If the card is lost or stolen, or at the customer's request, it is possible to cancel the registration of one or more Renault cards for the vehicle. If necessary, these cards can be re-registered for the same vehicle.
Attention! On vehicles with this system, it is not possible to replace several elements at the same time (UCH and Renault cards or UCH and injection computer). These items are shipped without the code entered.
When replacing these elements, they cannot be coded if none of them contain the original vehicle code in the memory (see table «Applicability»).
Way to remove the code. stored by system elements does not exist. The entered code cannot be deleted.
General information
The described system is an engine start blocking based on the recognition of a Renault card with a randomly changing code.
Every Renault card has a coded electronic circuit built into it (functioning without a battery), independent of the remote control function.
The engine immobilizer system is activated a few seconds after the Renault card is removed from the reader. The activation of the system can be judged by the flashing of the red signal lamp on the instrument panel and the blocking of the electric steering column lock.
The vehicle is factory assigned a hexadecimal 12 character code to initialize the engine immobilizer system.
During the after-sales period, an after-sales code may be required for:
- registration of additional Renault cards for the car.
- replacement of one or more Renault cards,
- deregistration of one or more Renault cards (e.g. in case of loss or theft),
- replacement of the CECB.
Note. To obtain an aftermarket code, you need to know the vehicle's serial number.
There are several options depending on the country of delivery:
- Minitel;
- local service center;
- Techline service.
