The front-wheel drive Renault Symbol sedan, built on the basis of the Renault Clio hatchback, is equipped with an 8- or 16-valve petrol engine and a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission. The main advantages are increased reliability, ease of control, safety and original design, the most spacious trunk for cars of this class. The car was developed specifically for use in Russian conditions.
The minimum configuration includes: an airbag for the driver, seat belts with a tension limiter on the front seats and standard seat belts on the rear, power steering, an electronic anti-theft system, bumpers painted to match the body color. A more expensive version is equipped with air conditioning, electric windows on the front doors, a radio with two speakers and a remote control on the steering column. The safety package supplied as additional equipment includes ABS and an airbag for the front passenger. Xenon headlights, a rain sensor, climate control, cruise control are provided for high-end cars.
The car has been adapted to Russian operating conditions. Galvanic treatment of the body, special sealing and anti-gravel mastic provide anti-corrosion protection of the car. Increased ground clearance, reinforced shock absorbers, metal protection of the engine oil pan and fuel and brake lines located under the bottom help to overcome difficult road conditions.
