Seat belts must be fastened before driving, including when driving in the city.
This rule also applies to passengers in the rear seats, and also applies to pregnant women. For them, diagonal lap belts are best suited.
Safety measures when transporting children
Children under 12 years of age should generally be seated in the rear seats. Depending on their age, they must be fastened with special child restraints or appropriate seat belts.
Little children (depending on growth) it is best to be transported lying down in a special basket or in a child seat with a support, equipped for transporting children in a car, taking into account all safety measures.
Babies up to 8 months old are allowed to be transported in the front seat together with adults in special mounts with supports for this purpose.
Children over 6 years of age can wear a lap seat belt.
Older children should use diagonal lap belts. The main thing is that they correspond to their growth. The seat belts can be adjusted using the airbags.
The procedure for attaching and using seats with supports for transporting children is contained in the instructions for the products of the manufacturer.
Rules for using seat belts
It is not allowed to fasten several passengers with one seat belt at once, even children.
There should be no hard or fragile objects between the belt and the body (glasses, pens, a bunch of keys, a smoking pipe, etc.), as they can cause serious injury under certain circumstances.
Multiple layers of clothing, such as coats and jackets, on the driver or passengers will adversely affect the correct fit of the seat belts and thus reduce their protective function.
Seat belts must not be twisted, pinched or touch sharp edges.
There must be no foreign objects in the fastening lock that interfere with the fixation of the belt.
Seat belts must be kept clean. In case of damage, they must be replaced in a timely manner at a service station while checking the anchoring.
Diagonal lap inertial seat belts
Seat belts of this type, with their smooth tension, provide complete freedom of movement of the body. When braking hard, they lock up.
Automatic locking of the belts also occurs during a sharp increase in speed, when driving uphill and passing sharp turns.
To fasten the belt, put it over the chest and belt, insert the mounting eye into the lock of your seat until it clicks. Lightly pull to check for secure fastening.
The diagonal lap of the seat belt must run along the middle of the shoulder (by no means through the neck) and close to the body.
On the front seats, you can use the belt and seat height adjuster to adjust the belt to your body size.
The transverse belt of the belt must always fit snugly against the waist part of the body. If necessary, it can be slightly stretched.
For pregnant women, the waist belt should be as low as possible so as not to put pressure on the stomach. Make sure the straps are not twisted.
When adjusting, the front seat backrests must not be folded far back, as this weakens the protective function of the seat belts.
To unfasten the belt, press the orange button on the lock with your finger - the shutter will open, the mounting eye will pop out of it under the influence of the spring. While holding lightly, pull the belt back - it will automatically retract. Set the head of the lug fastener to a comfortable hand grip position for the next fastening.
Height adjuster
The height adjuster adjusts the belt optimally to your height. The height is adjusted by moving the clip up or down and adjusts to the body so that the belt runs over the middle of the shoulder and not across the neck. After selecting the appropriate height, lightly pull to check that the adjuster clamp is secure.
