Adjusting the cable
Adjustment procedure:
- move the selector lever to the "N" position;
- disconnect the selector cable end from the multifunction switch on top of the transmission;

- press on the movable part of the hydraulic distributor (see Figure 4.39), then lock it in this position with the latch-clamp;
- set the selector lever and multi-function switch to position "D" and connect the cable to the ball head of the multi-function switch;
- press the latch to lock the position. The adjustment is complete;
- make sure that the selector moves freely and that the starter can only be engaged in the "P" or "N" positions. Make sure that the "Park" function operates reliably.
Removal and installation the selector cable
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on a lift.
2. Turn the ring (B) to remove the cable from the retainer. Do not remove the orange ring.

3. Under the body bottom, remove:
- exhaust pipe clamp;
- heat shields;
- four bolts securing the lever support.
4. Remove the cable retainer (1).

5. Remove the selector lever protection board.
6. Remove the shift cable.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

2. Adjust the control cable.
3. Press the sliding valve (T) and secure it with the clip.
4. Connect the cable with the selector and combination switch in position "D".
Note: Do not attempt to remove the orange ring on the end of the cable, as it breaks easily.
However, if the ring is broken, the cable does not need to be replaced, since the absence of the ring does not affect the operation of the system.
