Removing
- place the car on a lift or raise the front of the car and put the body on the safety supports;
- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- remove the center console in the car (see section «Body»);

- disconnect the connectors from the selector lever assembly: two on the right and one in front (Figure 4.42);
- remove the muffler intake pipe clamp from below the car, remove the heat-insulating shields from the bottom of the body to access the selector assembly;
- remove the protective plate and unscrew the four nuts securing the assembly to the floor of the body;

- Disconnect the end of the selector cable from the pivot on the bottom of the lever (Figure 4.43), pull the lock and remove the shell from the stop (Figure 4.44), remove the assembly from under the car;

- if it is necessary to detach the handle from the selector lever, unscrew the handle fastening screw and lift it up (Figure 4.45);
- note the connection of the wires passing through the lever and disconnect them from the connector so that the handle can be removed.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, while not interlacing the wires and laying them in the grooves on the lever. Check the correct operation of the selector lever and, if necessary, adjust the selector cable.
