Removal



Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Remove the top engine covers.

Remove the battery cover.

Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.

Remove the engine sump guard.

Drain the oil from the gearbox.

Disconnect the electrical wiring harnesses:
  • from the battery;
  • from the shelf under the battery;
  • from the injection system ECU (fig. 3.140).

Remove the battery, ECU and battery tray.

Disconnect the wiring harness from the side amplifier, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the side amplifier (fig. 3.141).

Remove the four bolts securing the hydraulic distributor cover (be careful: oil may leak) (fig. 3.142).

Remove the seven bolts securing the hydraulic distributor (fig. 3.143).

Disconnect the solenoid valve connectors.

Replace the hydraulic distributor.

Installation



Install the hydraulic distributor, having previously centered it using bolts 4 and 5, shown in Figure 3.144.

Screw in the remaining bolts.

Tighten the hydraulic distributor mounting bolts in the order shown in Figure 3.144 to the required torque (7.5 Nm).
