Removing
1. Apply the handbrake, then jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on axle stands. Remove the heat shields to access the gear selector assembly.
2. Loosen the small screw and remove the handle from the shift lever, then remove the center console (Chapter Body) and unplug the wire (refer to illustration above).
3. Remove the air filter assembly as described in Chapter Power systems, release.
4. Disconnect the cable from the transmission lever by releasing the brackets and removing the tip from the hinge (refer to accompanying illustration).
5. Turn away two bolts and remove the top cover from assembly of the lever.
6. Working under the vehicle, remove the nuts securing the arm assembly to the floor.
7. Turn away a bolt fixing a cable of switching of a mode of movement to the bottom, and remove assembly from under the car.
8. Separate the cable from the lever assembly (refer to section Removal and installation of a cable of switching of a mode of movement).
Installation
1. Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
- a) Before installation, apply a small amount of multipurpose grease to the working surfaces of the lever mechanism.
- b) In conclusion, check and adjust the operation of the drive mode selection lever as described in Section Adjusting the length of the drive switch cable.
