2. Clean the area around the filler/check plug (2) on the front of the transmission, then remove the plug (1) (refer to the accompanying illustration).
3. The transmission oil level should be up to the lower edge of the plug hole (refer to the accompanying illustration).
4. If necessary, top up the fluid level using the type of lubricant specified in the Specifications (refer to the accompanying illustration).
5. Install the filler/check plug and tighten it securely.
6. Install the engine protection. Note that frequent need for refilling indicates a leak, which may be through the oil seal.
