Warning! Gasoline is a dangerous and highly flammable liquid, so safety precautions must be taken.
1. The fuel filter is located underneath the vehicle, in front of the fuel tank (refer to the accompanying illustration). Before you begin work, wash the filter. Also, before disconnecting the couplings, carefully wipe them to minimize the entry of dirt into the fuel system.
2. To depressurize the fuel system, disconnect the hoses from the fuel filter. Disconnect both hoses, noting the correct location of the O-rings, then plug the ends of the hoses to minimize fuel loss.
3. Loosen the clamp screw, then remove the filter, making sure it is installed correctly. The arrow on the filter should point in the direction of fuel flow.
4. Install the new filter. Make sure the arrow points in the direction of fuel flow, then tighten the clamp bolt securely.
5. Make sure the O-rings are in place and connect the hoses to the fuel filter.
6. Start the engine and check the filter for fuel leaks.
