1. Set the handbrake, then jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on axle stands.
2. Remove the rear brake drums and inspect the brake shoes for signs of wear or contamination. Also inspect the wheel cylinders for leaks and the brake drum for signs of wear.
3. Finally, lower the vehicle to the ground.
