Removal and installation trunk lid lock components (Renault Megane 1)

Removal

1. Open the trunk lid, then disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

Lock mechanism - coupe models

1a. Loosen the mounting bolts.



1b. Remove the lock by unhooking it from the rod (refer to the illustrations).

Assembly of the lock button - coupe models

1. Disconnect the rod and separate it from the lock button assembly (refer to the accompanying illustration).





2. Disconnect the wiring connector from the single lock actuator (where are there) (refer to the accompanying illustration).



3. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the button assembly (refer to the accompanying illustration).

Lock mechanism - sedan models

1. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the lock from the trunk lid (refer to the accompanying illustration).

Lock button assembly - sedan models

1a. Remove the plastic trim.



1b. Release the retaining clip and disconnect the rod from the button assembly (refer to the illustrations).



2. Disconnect the drain pipe from the lock, then unscrew the two mounting nuts and remove the assembly from the trunk lid (refer to the accompanying illustration).

Installation

1. Perform installation in reverse order.
