The windshield and rear window are tightly clamped in rubber seals, planted in the corresponding body openings of the car. For reliable fixation of glasses, special glue is used. Replacing such fixed windows is a fairly time consuming task and is beyond the skill of the average amateur mechanic.
It is especially difficult in the absence of sufficient experience to achieve a tight glass fit, in addition, the risk of glass damage is very high (the latter applies in particular to laminated type windshields). In view of the foregoing, the compilers of this Guide recommend that car owners entrust the replacement of fixed glasses to car service specialists.
