Note. The arrangement and design of the door trim panel varies according to the vehicle's equipment level, so some trim panel arrangements will differ from the accompanying illustrations.
Removing
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
Attention! If the radio in your car is coded, make sure you know the code before disconnecting the battery.
Front door (all models except Scenic)
1a. Detach the exterior mirror trim panel from the front of the door.
1b. On Coupe models, also remove the small trim panel in the upper rear corner (refer to illustrations).
2. Remove the speaker from the door.
3a. Remove the mounting screws securing the storage compartment to the base of the trim panel.
3b. Move the storage compartment up to free it from the mounting brackets.
3c. Then remove it from the door by disconnecting the wiring connector (where necessary) (refer to illustrations).
4a. Remove the plug at the bottom of the armrest recess.
4b. Then unscrew the fastening screw and remove the plastic panel (refer to illustrations).
5a. Loosen the fixing screw.
5b. Remove the inner handle by disconnecting it from the rod (refer to illustrations).
6. On models with manual power windows, remove the lever from the axle and remove the spacer (refer to accompanying illustration).
7. Make sure all screws are removed, then carefully pry the trim panel base from the door (refer to accompanying illustration).
Front door (Scenic models)
1. Disconnect the exterior mirror trim panel from the front of the door.
2. Remove the speaker from the door.
3. Remove the screws located at the bottom and in the speaker opening that secure the storage compartment to the trim panel.
4. Slide the top of the storage compartment out to release the top mounting bracket, then lift the compartment up and off the rear mounting pin (refer to accompanying illustration). Disconnect the electrical connector (where necessary) and remove the storage compartment for small items.
5. Remove the plug at the bottom of the armrest recess, then unscrew the fixing screw and remove the plastic panel.
6. Where available, remove the cover mounted on the door trim panel below the mirror.
7. If power mirrors are installed, working through the door opening below the mirror, remove the two mounting brackets securing the mirror adjustment control to the trim panel, then disconnect the electrical connectors. If manual mirrors are installed, remove the rubber boot from the adjuster knob. Working through the door opening, loosen the set screw on the regulator assembly. Press the tab on the side of the regulator assembly to release the control cables.
8. Turn away the fastening screw and remove the internal handle, having disconnected it from draft.
9. On models with manual power windows, remove the lever from the shaft and remove the spacer.
10. Make sure all screws are removed, then carefully pry the trim panel base off the door and remove it.
Backdoor
1. Loosen the screws securing the trim panel at the base of the storage compartment (where available) and on Scenic models, also remove the rear window trim side panel.
2. Remove trim panel as described above (for all models except Scenic and for Scenic models), ignoring remarks regarding wiring.
Installation
1. Install in reverse order of removal. Before attaching panel brackets, make sure that all electrical wiring is (where applicable) laid out correctly.
