Removal
- Place the car on a lift and lift the front wheels.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
- Clamps Mot. 453-01, clamp the flexible lines coming from the power steering fluid reservoir. Do not allow liquid to leak.
- Disconnect the connector from the injection system control unit, remove the 2 bolts and remove the injection system control unit.
- Raise the car.
- Remove the right front wheel and right fender liner.
- Disconnect the oil supply hose and pressure hose.
- Release the tension on the drive belt. using a 7 mm internal hexagon, loosen the central bolt securing the tension roller and turn the tension roller with a 22 mm open-end wrench (pic. 9.19).

- Remove the power steering pump drive belt.
- Remove the 3 Torx 30 bolts and pulley from the power steering pump.
- Remove the 3 bolts securing the pump to the bracket.
- Remove the pump.
Installation
Installation of the power steering pump is carried out in sequence. reverse withdrawal, taking into account the following recommendations:
- when installing a new pump using tool Dir. 1083 or Nauder, press in the pump bushing until dimension X = 40.6 mm (pic. 9.21);
- do not reinstall a previously removed accessory drive belt;
- be sure to follow the procedure for tensioning the drive belt of mounted units;
- Bleed air from the power steering hydraulic drive.
