Removal
- Place the vehicle on a two-post lift
- Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
- Remove the accelerator cable.
- Remove the tie rod located between the engine and the power steering pump.
- Using clamps Mot. 453-01, clamp the pump feed hose.
- Disconnect the oil supply hose and the pressure hose from the pump, while protecting the generator from oil ingress
- Remove the three bolts securing the pump bracket.
- Remove the pump with the bracket assembly
Installation
The installation of the power steering pump is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following recommendations:
- when installing a new pump, use the Nauder tool to press the pump bushing until dimension X = 66.8 mm is obtained (Fig. 9.23);
- do not reinstall a previously removed accessory drive belt;
- be sure to follow the tensioning procedure for the drive belt of the attachments;
- bleed the power steering hydraulic system.
