The front wheels must be removed to gain access to the stabilizer bar mountings. When disconnecting the stabilizer link from the shock absorber joint bolt, do not completely knock out the bolt. Hit the bolt only to pull it back and remove the thrust.
Unscrew the mounting brackets on the left and right and remove. Install bushings only properly. If it is necessary to replace the stabilizer or link, or both, remove the circlip at the end of the stabiliser. On early models, the circlip is on the inside of the spacer.
Late models have a washer in front of the circlip that must be cut to remove the circlip.
Install in reverse order. Lubricate bushings and reinstall in original position. The bushings are separated and can be installed either from above or below, depending on the mounting.
The mounting brackets and shock pivot bolts are finally tightened when the vehicle is fully lowered to the ground. Tighten the nuts of the hinge bolts to 80 Nm. Mounting bracket nuts are tightened to 15 Nm (models «J11...») or 20 Nm (models «J63...»).
