Removal
1. Block the rear wheels, apply the handbrake, then jack up the front of the car and place it on axle stands. Remove both front wheels.
2. Remove the lower engine shield (where is available) and the exhaust pipe/converter (refer to Chapter Power and exhaust systems).
3. On models equipped with a manual transmission, disconnect the gear selector rod from the transmission as described in Chapter Transmission.

4. On models where the anti-roll bar is attached directly to the lower arms (all models except Scenic), loosen and remove the nuts and bolts securing the stabilizer mounting clamps (refer to the accompanying illustration). Unhook both clamps and remove them from the levers.

5. On models where the stabilizer is attached to the lower arms via rods (Scenic), unscrew the mounting nuts and bolts and remove the stabilizer mounting clamps from the subframe (refer to the accompanying illustration).
6. Remove the anti-roll bar from under the vehicle and remove the rubber bushings.
7. Carefully inspect the stabilizer components for signs of wear and damage, paying particular attention to the mounting bushings. Replace worn components as necessary.
Installation
1. Install the mounting bushings on the stabilizer, then move it into the working position. Position the bushings so that their slots are facing the subframe, then install the mounting clamps and lightly tighten the bolts.
2. On all models except Scenic, lubricate the stabilizer end mounting bushings with multi-purpose grease (Renault recommends using Molykote 33). Install the bushings onto the ends of the stabilizer, then place the mounting clamps in the working position. Install the clamp bolts and nuts and tighten them lightly.
3. On Scenic models, place spacers between the stabilizer and lower control arms. Insert the link rods, then install the upper spacers and nuts and tighten them securely.
4. On models with manual transmission, connect the gear selection rod as described in Chapter Transmission.
5. Attach the exhaust pipe/converter (Chapter Power and exhaust systems), then install the lower engine shield (where is available).
6. Install the wheels, lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel bolts to the specified Specifications effort.
7. Rock the vehicle to adjust the position of the stabilizer components, then tighten the stabilizer mounting parts to the specified Specifications effort.
