Removal



Remove the gearbox.

Remove the clutch housing with the pressure plate assembly.

Install the latch (Mot. 582-01) (Fig. 3.30).

Loosen the flywheel mounting bolts, remove the flywheel and retainer (Mot. 582-01).

Install the retainer (Mot. 1677) (Fig. 3.31).

Loosen the flywheel mounting bolts, remove the flywheel and retainer (Mot. 1677).

Installation



Clean the threaded holes on the crankshaft flange for the flywheel mounting bolts.

Degrease the flywheel bearing surface on the crankshaft flange.



Check the condition of the flywheel.

Install the spacer, observing the installation direction: chamfer towards the flywheel (Fig. 3.32).

Caution! Re-use of removed bolts is not permitted.


Apply LOC-TITE FRENETANCH to new flywheel bolts.

Tighten in the order shown in Figure 3.33 to the required torque:
  • flywheel mounting bolts (k engines) (65 Nm);
  • flywheel mounting bolts (f4R engine) (70 Nm).
