Removal



Remove the gearbox.

Install the latch (Mot. 582-01) (Fig. 3.20).

Loosen the clutch housing mounting bolts.

Remove the clutch slave disc.

Use a vacuum cleaner or a clean cloth to remove dust from the clutch housing. Do not use compressed air, as inhaling dust containing asbestos is harmful to health.

Check the condition of the flywheel friction surface for cracks, burns and surface wear.

Check the condition of the friction linings of the driven clutch disc and if there are traces of oil or mechanical damage, replace the driven disc.

Caution! If there is an automatic clearance selection system, compress the petals of the clutch housing pressure spring using the device (Emb. 1604) (Fig. 3.21).

Place the base of the fixture (Emb. 1604) in a vice (Fig. 3.22).

Install the clutch housing onto the base, then the clutch release bearing and nut (Fig. 3.23).

Tighten the nut until it stops (Fig. 3.24).

Install the locking wheel pliers in the position shown in Figure 3.25. by the arrow.

Compress the spring (Fig. 3.26).

Loosen the nut completely (with compressed springs).

Remove the compression force from the clutch housing.

Remove the clutch housing from the base, making sure that the springs are compressed (Fig. 3.27).

Caution: Clean the gearbox input shaft splines and install the assembly without using grease.


Attention! Degrease the flywheel surface under the clutch driven disc.

Install the clutch driven disc. The side of the hub with the smaller diameter should face the flywheel, as shown in Figure 3.28.

To center the clutch driven disc, use the plastic mandrel included in the clutch repair kit (Emb. 1518).

Install the clutch housing onto the flywheel (Fig. 3.29).

Tighten the clutch housing mounting bolts alternately in several stages (12 Nm).
