Note: Before starting the removal procedure, attach an indicator to the brake drum and check the axial clearance (permissible limits are 0–0.03 mm).


Removal



Remove the brake drum.

Remove the bearing retaining ring and bearing from the hub using a press and a piece of pipe with an outside diameter of 49 mm (Fig. 4.37).

Note: Make sure the tube rests on the outer ring of the bearing.


Installation



Press the bearing using a press and a piece of pipe with an outer diameter of 50 mm until it stops against the flange.

Install a new snap ring.

Install the brake drum onto the hub axle, having previously lubricated it.

Tighten to the specified torque:
  • hub nut (175 Nm);
  • wheel mounting bolts (105 Nm).
