Note: On models with F3R, F7R and F9Q engines, it is theoretically possible to remove the transmission separately from the engine. However, this is a very complex and time-consuming procedure. It is recommended to remove the powertrain assembly (refer to Chapter Engine repair), and then separate the transmission from the engine. On models with E7J and K7M engines, the latter method is the only possible one.


1. Remove the engine/transmission assembly as described in Chapter Engine repair.

2a. a) Disconnect the engine and transmission tie bracket/flywheel housing (where is available).
