Removal
1. Remove the hood lock as described in Section Removal and installation the hood lock.
2. Tie a long piece of twine to the end of the hood release cable. Release the cable from all fastening brackets and ties.
3. Bend back the door weatherstrip, then carefully pry the driver's side sill trim panel to access the hood lock lever mounting screw.
4. Loosen the hood release lever screw, then remove it. Pull the cable out of the engine compartment and into the passenger compartment. When the end of the string emerges from the bulkhead, untie the cable and leave the string in this position.
Installation
1. Install in reverse order. Make sure the cable is routed correctly and secured with all fastening brackets.
