Removal, installation and adjustment of the hood lock and drive (Renault Logan 1)

The hood lock, combined into one unit with a safety hook, is installed on the upper shelf of the radiator frame. The lock latch, made in the form of a bracket from thick steel wire, is welded to the reinforcement of the inner hood panel. The hood lock drive is cable-operated, with a handle installed under the instrument panel on the left side.

You will need: 10 mm keys, TORX T27, flat-blade screwdriver.

For removal hood lock do the following.

1. Unscrew the two nuts securing the lock to the radiator frame...

2. ...and remove the lock from its socket in the frame.

4. ... using a screwdriver, disconnect the cable end holder from the lock lever and remove the lock.

5. Install the hood lock in the reverse order of removal.

6. If after installation the lock does not lock clearly or is difficult to unlock, adjust its position. Loosen the lock mounting nuts and move it within the rectangular openings of the housing until it works clearly.

1. Remove the hood lock and disconnect the drive cable from it (see above in the same subsection).

2. Remove the cable sheath from the holder on the radiator frame...

3. ...and pull the cable out of the frame hole into the engine compartment.

4. In the passenger compartment, unscrew the drive handle mounting screw...

5. ...disconnect the handle from the body...

6. ...and, pulling the cable into the passenger compartment through the seal in the front shield, remove the drive from the car.

Note: Further disassembly of the drive is not practical, as the cable is supplied as spare parts together with the handle.


7. Install the hood lock drive in the reverse order of removal.
