Attention: To avoid the risk of triggering pyrotechnics (seat belt pretensioners or airbags) it is forbidden to use multimeters or other electrical measuring instruments on these elements.
Do not leave unused +12 V connectors exposed to the atmosphere without proper protection.
Make sure there is no contact between the wiring and the fuel or brake lines.
Avoid laying electrical wiring in areas where the temperature is above 100°C.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal before doing any work on the 12V power supply wiring.
Attention:
- In order to avoid noise, increased wear, short circuits, etc. after reconnection, it is necessary to mark the wiring and the method of connecting the connectors.
- To avoid any damage during the removal process, make sure that the wiring is thawed away from the fasteners (fixing clips, plastic holders, electrical tape, connectors, etc.).
To prevent damage to electrical wiring, make sure that the surrounding areas do not pose a mechanical hazard (e.g. sharp corners, elements that can be opened or moved, etc.)
Wiring must be laid at least 30mm away from moving parts (belts, pulleys, steering column, etc.)
Depending on the environment, ensure that unused connectors are properly insulated.
All connections (connectors), used in the engine compartment must be insulated; do not strip the insulation around the connectors.
Do not connect ground wire to studs with insulating protection (for example, painted).
Do not use more than two ground terminals on one stud.
Do not use the power ground on the same ground as the electronics ground.
To prevent water from entering the connectors, it is necessary to route the wiring in such a way that when approaching the connector, the wiring passes from the bottom to the top.
When connecting between fixed and moving components, fix the wiring to the fixed part.
Crossing battery power wires (positive and negative) can lead to confusion; the wires must be laid separately from each other.
For wiring harness:
- use plastic holders, making sure that the color codes match,
- do not use steel clamps that do not have rubber protection,
- use clips built into wiring harnesses during replacement procedures,
- Do not leave steering column wiring unprotected.
Make sure that:
- jumpers are fixed properly,
- connectors are properly connected and locked.
Lay the wires in such a way that where they are visible, everything looks aesthetically pleasing. Try to lay the wires according to the marks made during removal.
It is forbidden to lay wires through grooves and protrusions (risk of wire chafing due to friction).
It is forbidden to lay several wires through one terminal.
Do not fix connectors or wires in places where drilling is possible (e.g. at the location of the license plate).
