Renault Logan cars are distinguished by the high quality of workmanship and materials used, so they are immediately ready for full-fledged operation and do not require special break-in. However, during the initial period of operation of the car (first 1000 km) there is an intensive running-in of details. To improve the reliability, durability and economy of the car during its further operation, as well as after a major overhaul of the engine, we recommend that you follow the following rules for operating the car.
1. Before each departure, check and, if necessary, adjust the air pressure in the tires.
2. Do not allow the engine to run at a crankshaft speed of more than 3000–3500 min–1.
3. In time, in accordance with road conditions, shift to a lower gear to avoid unwanted engine overloads.
4. For better running-in of brake pads, try to avoid sudden braking.
5. Avoid riding in deep snow, sand, mud as much as possible.
6. Do not tow a trailer and if possible try to avoid towing other vehicles.
7. Apply «soft» driving style, avoiding sudden acceleration, braking, maneuvering.
8. Do not exceed the speed of 130 km/h even on downhill slopes.
9. Periodically check and, if necessary, adjust the tension of the accessory drive belts (generator, power steering pump, etc.). During the initial period of operation, the belts can be most intensively stretched.
10. Monitor the condition of all fasteners of the car and, if necessary, tighten them. Pay special attention to fastening the wheels, steering parts, front and rear suspensions, the exhaust pipe of the exhaust system to the engine exhaust manifold.
During break-in (at a run of 1000 km) visit a service station for the first scheduled maintenance. In order for the warranty to continue to operate, require the service station workers to enter a mark on the maintenance in the service book coupons.
After a run of 1000 km, the restrictions are lifted, but for the final running-in of engine parts, the car must travel approximately 3000 km.
