When going on a long journey, take the following additionally.
1. Additional set of tools:
- big hammer;
- flat and Phillips blade screwdrivers in three sizes - small, medium and large (power);
- chisel;
- set of heads from "8" to "32" with extensions of 125 and 250 mm, a handle, a ratchet and a cardan (domestic, European or American production);
- set of Allen keys from "2" to "10";
- set of TORX keys;
- brake bleeder key and a thin hose 15-20 cm long;
- center punch;
- drill with a set of drills;
- hacksaw for metal;
- medium-cut file;
- additional mounting blade;
- clamp;
- skein of knitting wire;
- a piece of thick cardboard for making gaskets;
- several screw clamps of different diameters;
- a piece of emery cloth.
2. Jack stand – wooden block 40x250x250 mm. Stand (type "goat") for working under the car.
3. Canister of motor oil (in a package of 1 or 4 l). Moreover, for 1000 km of mileage for a new car that has not been run in, take 4 liters, for one that has traveled 50,000 km – 1 liter, 100,000 km – 2 liters, with a mileage of over 100,000 km – 4 liters.
4. Antifreeze canister – 1 l (in winter – 5 l).
5. Power steering oil top-up – 1 l.
6. Oil for adding to the gearbox – 1 liter.
7. Bottle of brake fluid – 0.5 l.
8. Clutch release cable.
9. Tube of Litol-24 lubricant.
10. Canister with 10 liters of gasoline.
11. A special funnel for the fuel tank neck, which has a narrowing that prevents filling with leaded gasoline.
12. Hose for transferring gasoline.
13. Repair kit for muffler.
14. A product for removing bitumen stains from the car body.
15. Windshield insect remover.
16. Special kit for repairing tubeless tires without dismounting or wheel sealant.
17. At least one windshield wiper blade.
18. A set of new spark plugs.
19. Several high-voltage wires (better than long ones).
20. Tested thermostat.
21. Tested temperature sensor.
22. Oil and petrol resistant sealant ("Germesil" or similar).
23. Lamps (half of all lamps installed on a vehicle, excluding repetitive ones).
24. New brake pads (two pieces for disc and drum brakes).
25. Set of tension springs for drum brake shoes.
26. Brake hoses (there are hoses of different sizes on the car, have one of each size).
27. A pair of wheel mounting bolts.
28. A box with bolts, nuts and washers (2–3 pcs. from M5 to M10), as well as cotter pins.
29. In winter – glass de-icer and "liquid key" for locks.
30. In winter – anti-skid chains or a bag of sand.
31. Wide transparent tape (for repairing hoses and broken glass).
32. A flashlight with batteries or accumulators and a spare set of batteries for it.
33. Roulette (may be useful in case of an accident).
34. A box of matches, a hatchet.
35. A strong rope or cord.
36. Work gloves.
37. Some work clothes.
38. Hand cleaner.
39. Mat for working under the car.
40. Soft pencil (can I use a felt-tip pen?), several sheets of paper or a notepad.
