Car movement
The automatic transmission is lubricated under pressure, so it is only provided when the engine is running.
Therefore, to prevent serious damage, the following conditions must be met:
- never drive with the ignition off (for example, downhill). It is very dangerous;
- never push the car (for example, to get to a gas station), without observing safety precautions;
The vehicle can only be driven when the engine is running. In this regard, you cannot start the engine of a car with an automatic transmission while towing it. The automatic transmission is lubricated under pressure, so it is only provided when the engine is running. Therefore, to avoid serious damage to the gearbox, the following conditions must be observed:
- never drive with the ignition off (for example, downhill), this will cause damage to the automatic transmission,
- never push the car (For example. to get to the gas station), without taking precautions.
The vehicle can only be driven when the engine is running. In this regard, it is impossible to start the engine of a car with an automatic transmission while towing it.
Towing a car
In all cases, it is preferable to transport in a technical assistance vehicle with a flat loading platform or with the front wheels raised. If this is not possible. in exceptional cases, you can tow a car at a speed of up to 40 km/h for a distance of up to 50 km. in this case, the selector lever must be set to position «N».
