The automatic transmission is lubricated under pressure, so it is only provided when the engine is running.
Therefore, to prevent serious damage, the following conditions must be met:
- never drive with the ignition off (for example, downhill). This is very dangerous;
- never push a car (for example, to get to a gas station), without taking precautions;
The vehicle can only be set in motion when the engine is running. In this regard, it is forbidden to start the engine of a vehicle with an automatic transmission by towing it. The automatic transmission is lubricated under pressure, so it is provided only when the engine is running. Therefore, in order to avoid serious damage to the transmission, the following conditions must be met:

The vehicle can only be set in motion with the engine running. In this regard, it is not allowed to start the engine of a vehicle with an automatic transmission while towing it.
Towing a car
In all cases, it is preferable to transport the vehicle using a flat bed or raised front wheels. If this is not possible, in exceptional cases the vehicle can be towed at a speed of up to 40 km/h for a distance of up to 50 km. In this case, the selector lever must be set to the "N" position.
