Before conducting the check:
- - if the automatic transmission pan was removed, fill in 4 liters of transmission fluid or 3.5 liters after a scheduled transmission fluid change;
- - If only the transmission fluid level is being checked, add 0.5 liters of the recommended transmission fluid.
1. The vehicle must be on a 4-post lift and the transmission must be at ambient temperature.
2. Set the selector lever to position "P" and start the engine.
3. Connect the XR25 portable diagnostic tool, enter and D14 or #04.
4. Raise the vehicle and let the engine run until the coolant temperature reaches 60°C.
5. When the required temperature is reached, with the engine running, unscrew the check hole plug and drain the excess transmission fluid. Screw the transmission fluid level check plug back in.
Note: 0.1 liter of transmission fluid should flow out within 20 seconds.
6. If the excess transmission fluid is less than 0.1 l, the transmission fluid level is not normal, add 1 liter of the recommended transmission fluid to the gearbox, let the gearbox cool down, and then repeat the above operations.
