1 - gear shift lever handle; 2 - shift handle sealing cuff; 3 - shift lever with reverse lock; 4 - control rod; 5 - mudguard; 6 - control rod spring; 7 - gear shift handle housing; 8 - intermediate plate.

If there are problems with switching, they can be eliminated relatively easily. First, you need to check whether the elements of the switching mechanism are bent and whether the bushings of the above-mentioned bearings are worn. For adjustment, a specialized tool (B.Vi.1133) is used, which is available in auto repair shops and is installed on the gearbox control shaft. In the absence of a specialized tool, the work must be carried out together with an assistant.

1. Engage 1st gear.

2. Raise the vehicle from the front.

3. Remove the gearbox splash guard.

4. To increase the working space, loosen the exhaust pipe if necessary and lower it slightly.

5. Disconnect the return spring from the control rod.

6. Loosen the control rod clamp bolt.

7. In 1st gear position, press the gear shift lever down and back.

8. Press the side of the gearshift lever towards the gearbox housing until there is a 2 mm gap between the lever and the housing.

9. In this position, tighten the control rod bolt again to a torque of 30 Nm. Make sure that the control rod is not twisted. The fastening points of the control shaft and the clamping part of the control rod must be degreased.

10. Check the gap in the shift handle again. It should be between 2 and 5 mm.
