Caution: Do not run the engine without the accessory drive belt, as this may result in damage to the crankshaft pulley.
Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Remove:
- right front wheel,
- right front fender liner,
- partially the right front wheel arch,
- plastic shield under the fuel filter,
- accessory drive belt.
Remove:
- bolt (2) securing the crankshaft pulley, blocking the flywheel with a large screwdriver (1),
- crankshaft pulley (3).

Installation
Parts that must be replaced: crankshaft pulley mounting bolt.
Caution: Use only a plastic brush or a soft wire (brass) metal brush.
When reusing, brush off any deposits from the crankshaft pulley grooves.
Install the old crankshaft pulley mounting bolt (4) with the spacer (5).
Turn the crankshaft clockwise (from the timing drive side) using the old crankshaft pulley bolt until the key (6) of the crankshaft toothed pulley is located almost vertically and pointing upwards.

Remove the plug from the hole for the TDC lock (7).

Screw the TDC locking tool (Mot. 1489) (8) into the hole in the cylinder block.

Remove the old crankshaft pulley bolt with the spacer.
Install the crankshaft pulley with a new mounting bolt.
Turn the crankshaft smoothly clockwise (one hundred side of the timing belt drive) using the crankshaft pulley bolt until the crankshaft is pressed against the tool (Mot. 1489) (9).

Tighten to the specified torque and turn to the specified angle (the crankshaft must be locked with the TDC lock) crankshaft pulley mounting bolt (120 Nm + 95'±15').
Remove the TDC locking tool (Mot. 1489).
Apply a drop of silicone sealant - gasket to the threads of the TDC locking plug hole.
Tighten the TDC locking pin hole plug to the required torque (25 Nm).
