Removal
- set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position by inserting the key into the ignition switch (lock) and releasing the locking device;
- disconnect the negative battery cable;
- remove the airbag from the steering wheel (see section "Electrical equipment");

- by squeezing the tabs of the lock, disconnect the wiring harness from the steering wheel;

- unscrew, but not completely, the steering wheel mounting bolt (Figure 6.5);

Note: You can prevent the steering wheel from turning by using the built-in steering lock mechanism by removing the ignition key and turning the steering wheel until it clicks. After loosening the screw, insert the ignition key and return the steering wheel to its original position
- mark the relative positions of the steering wheel hub and shaft in an accessible manner;
- rocking the steering wheel from side to side and moving it towards you at the same time (or with sharp blows), remove the wheel from the shaft splines;

- when you feel that the wheel has come off the splines, unscrew the bolt that holds it;

- and remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft;

- pull the wires out through the hole in the hub and remove the steering wheel;

Caution: After removing the steering wheel, do not turn the steering shaft or the airbag contact group.

The steering wheel mounting bolt (A) must be replaced with a new one each time the steering wheel is removed.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. In this case, do the following:
- align the marks on the wheel hub and steering shaft;
- install a new wheel bolt and tighten it to the specified torque;
- install the airbag as described in the section "Electrical equipment".

Caution! To avoid airbag deployment, do not install the airbag on a removed steering wheel. Whenever the steering wheel is removed, the airbag connector must be disconnected.
