Removing
- set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position by inserting into the switch (lock) ignition key and release the locking device;
- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- remove the airbag from the steering wheel (see section «electrical equipment»);
- squeezing the tabs of the latch, disconnect the wiring harness from the steering wheel;
- turn out, but not completely, the steering wheel mounting bolt (Figure 6.5);

Note. To keep the steering wheel from turning, you can use the built-in locking steering mechanism by pulling out the ignition key and turning the steering wheel until it clicks. After loosening the screw, insert the ignition key and return the steering wheel to its original position
- mark in an accessible way the relative position of the steering wheel hub and shaft;
- shaking the steering wheel from side to side and moving it simultaneously towards you (or sharp blows), remove the wheel from the shaft splines;
- feeling that the wheel has come off the splines, unscrew the bolt of its fastening;
- and remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft;
- pull out the wires through the hole in the hub and remove the steering wheel;
Attention! After removing the steering wheel, do not turn the steering shaft and the contact group of the airbag.
Bolt (A) The steering wheel mounts must be replaced with a new one every time the steering wheel is removed.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. In doing so, do the following:
- align the marks on the wheel hub and steering shaft;
- install a new wheel bolt and tighten it to the prescribed torque;
- install the airbag as described in section «electrical equipment».
Attention! To prevent the airbag from deploying, do not install it on the removed steering wheel. Any time you remove the steering wheel, you must disconnect the airbag connector.
